Hi, I have a maltese poodle named Prince and he's 4 years old.

This is the 3rd time it's happened in maybe the span of 2 years but it's a
bit worrying when it does happen. When this 'problem' happens Prince will
have problems walking and it lasts for maybe 10 minutes...When it happens
his back legs freeze up and it looks like he's drunk and looks as if he has
a hard time controlling his walking. He drags his back legs and his back
legs shake...The times it has happened were when he's just woken up and I'm
wondering if it's him just sleeping the wrong way?

Any suggestions, it's rather hard to describe exactly what's happening but
it just looks as if he loses control for the short 10 minutes of his
walking...

...........It really could be anything - from mechanical problems with the
spine or hips or some other problem. Your best bet would be to get a
thorough physical checkup for your friend.
