Been away from fish keeping for 25+ years. Google's hits were overkill.
Being "old school," well, certainly OLD, I came to USENET.

Anyone care to offer their favorite sites?

I would want more specifics to even start to answer.

I would first form specific interests, then try here again.

Some topics would include shopping for plants, fish, food, medicine,
accessories, medical care, routine maintenance.

Heh. Yeah. As soon as I hit "Send" I knew.

My fish interest is African Cichlids. Google that and you get too many pages.

I visited some stores today and got a feel for equipment.

Here's what I post monthly. The links have all been vetted and
contributed by folks who were regulars on rafm.

------------------------------------------------------------------

We have an extensive FAQ, located at http://faq.thekrib.com. The
beginner's section is http://faq.thekrib.com/begin.html and
http://faq.thekrib.com/begin-cycling.html explains why new tanks are
hard to start. There is a lot of valuable information there on
everything from starting your first fishtank to fish selection to
growing live plants. Please have a look at the FAQ to see if your
questions are answered there before you post.

There are also a number of very valuable internet resources on fish and
aquaria. Here are some of the very best, and you will often see them
mentioned.
