Post subject: Hamster tubes
Archived from groups: alt>pets>hamsters (more info?)

I live in the UK. Our hamster cage has a series of tubes (big surprise) -
basically it's a wire cage, plastic tray bottom with tubing that goes out of
one place and back into the cage somewhere else. Our hamster likes the
tubes!

We have a new cage - tank on the bottom, wire cage on top and would like to
buy some more tubes for that cage. Currently there's a long wire ramp - I
think tubes would be better or even a plastic ramp.

The hamster is syrian and a bit chubby. Many of the tubes I see - rotastack,
etc - look smaller than those we have and a bit of a tight queeeze for our
hamster (who's no longer able to do about turns inside the tubing as she
used to!).

The esisting tubing I would describe a s 'bubbly' - not just smooth
sections - it looks like bubbles pushed together to form a tube (if you get
me).

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

In the UK I'm struggling to find a supplier for this kind of tubing - it's
easier to find the narrower stuff in pet shops.

Any UKers have a suggestion?

Paul

I think you have Crittertrail there. I keep syrians and have no problems
with Habitrail tubes (not the mini system) - I mainly have the Space
Station tubes, but one cage is the Safari the other is the Space one - they
have no trouble in those tubes....but I think they do get too big to do a
360 in them too.
They again....I could touch my toes when I was younger - I most certainly
can't anymore! lol
