Well, tomorrow is the day I go on my solitary adventure to Calgary. Now that
the boy doesn't need me anymore, I'm free to roam.
So, I thought I would do something frivolous like go to a Space 1999
convention. I don't know how many of you recall that British sci-fi series
from the late seventies, but it was a favourite of mine.
So, I'll meet up with people who are also weird space geeks. The two guys to
run the Barry Morse group I'm on are friend of many of the actors and have
arranged for several of them to call in to take questions. And there will be
an auction of memorabilia from the show and personal items owned my the
actors.
Of course, I'm also going to trek around the city centre a bit. They are
supposed to have a really good zoo. K...I'll probably have pictures to bore
you with later.
Bye for now!

Thanks so much Nona!
I do hope to check in with you all if possible, if I don't schedule myself
to death...hahaha
Tomorrow, my plan is to go to the zoo, then to Mountain Equipment Co-op: the
camper's mecca, then back to the hotel for a swim and a jacuzzi :) I hope I
remember to eat! LOL I guess when I faint, that will remind me.
On Friday morning, I'd like to go up the Calgary Tower, then the whole group
is supposed to go on a walking tour of downtown. They have a street called
St Stephen's street that is closed to cars. It is cafes, shops and other
things of interest.
On Saturday, we're taking a bus trip to Banff National park to see sites
there. I've been there before, but I may try to call a highschool friend
there that I've not seen in years.
During those days, we'll also be doing all things Space 1999ish, and Sunday
will be mostly that.
There's also a Latin festival one block over...I might sneak out to that for
a bit ;)
