Archived from groups: alt>pets>dogs>labrador (more info?)

Any good links to sites that give information on training your dog to be a
guide dog? Or does anyone have any experience with training dogs to become
guide dogs? I know labs and goldens are some of the most commong guide
dogs out there.

Not to go into details, but the sad news around here is, well, it might be
best for us to think about training chloe in at least some of the basic
commands for becoming a guide dog. At least to be helpful around the house
"just in case" the inevitable actually does happen. Although Chloe isn't
quite the "size" of your typical guide dog, she does have alot of lab
qualities, especially with her smartness, although we haven't found her
"retriever" qualities yet. :-)
