Hello all
We have two lovely cats called bubble and squeak,
unfortunately they have got fleas and now it seems we have them all over the
house. Does anyone have tips on how to get rid of this problem.
TIA
Ann

there is a product you can purchase from most any vet...
animal supply store or even most regular drug stores
that comes in a small tube and you just rub it into the cat's neck right
behind the head...
one dose lasts for about 30 days

then vacuum everything in the house very well

I was told that if you vacuum make sure that you empty the bag immediately
outside far away from the house, because vacuum bags are breeding grounds
for fleas, etc.
My sister had them and it took months of constant vacuuming, shampooing and
cleaning to finally get rid of them.

One application to the back of the neck of each cat every month will
solve the problem in a few months. Be sure to get either Advantage,
Frontline, or Revolution. Do NOT get the Hartz product. It has proved
hazardous in a number of cases.

All the fleas may not hatch out from your carpets and floors for
several months, so it is important to keep treating your cats for four
to six months. Vacuuming and other environment treatments will hasten
removal, recommended if you are being bit, but, given time, the
treatment of the cat only is 100% effective.

Do not use flea products that you can buy over the counter at your
local discount store. They are ineffective and can be dangerous to
your cats. I use Frontline that you can either get from your local
vet or online. A lot of flea drops leave an oily residue on their
fur, but Frontline doesn't. It isn't cheap, but it does work. It
cost me $93.00 for a 3 month supply for 2 cats and a large dog at
www.petcarerx.com.

You overpaid. 12 ml (largest dog size) costs about $40 at my vet.
That is enough for three 3 ml (75 pound or so dog) + six 0.5 ml
(normal cat) doses.
