All,

Can anyone advise. I have a new tank set up, with 10 neons, 2 platies, 2
barbs and a gourami. Although I haven't kept fish for years I used to and
was good at it.
But now... I know I have white spot in the tank, but all around the
thermostat I notice a sort of slime/mould looking stuff as well. Could this
be from treating the water with Stress Zyme and Stress Coat?
Not sure if it could be "velvet" as well as white spot?

How should I treat it - I have lost two fish so far....

Please help!!

Thanks,

Charlie

quick cure or similar product at half dose. Treat days 1, 4 7 and 10 with a
25% water change in between. Sounds like you may be overfeeding if you have
mould in the tank. Feed less, the fish will be healthy, your tank will be
cleaner or do more water changes.

Accompany the medication with a temperature increse of a couple
degrees. This speeds up the life cycle of the ich (white spot).

How long has the tank been set up for? It sounds like you might have
overloaded the tank without giving the proper time to cycle. A second
thought is temperature? What is the temperature, because ich thrives
in colder temperatures.
