Post subject: swarm behavior term
Archived from groups: rec>pets>birds>pigeons (more info?)

Hello, all!
Sorry if I repeat; I'm not sure that this got through the first time:
I am new to this group, so all apologies for any transgressions. I have a
psychotic friend who is obsessed with finding out whether there is a term
(one or more words in any language) for the sychronous action of birds
flying and turning as one,en masse. This is also an action of schools of
fish and swarms of insects; a term for these would do as well.
Could anyone PLEASE help those of us who have to deal with this "special
person" on a daily basis?!!
Thanks in advance:
RT

I'm not sure of one term, but you could look at:

Flock centering, collision avoidance and velocity matching.

This is also an action of schools of
