Is there a way to get both the lab and corgi to stop digging up my
plants and dragging them into the yard? I don't want to put chicken
wire around every plant either. Thanks for any tips.

the first thing to do is to ask your vet for the list of plants poisonous to
your dogs and make sure you do not have any of them...if you have never seen
the list, you will be shocked what is on it!

You've already gotten the very best and most obvious advice.
SUPERVISION! They're babies and you absolutely have to watch them. And
if you can't or won't watch them, the space they're confined to must be
absolutely puppy-proof. No plants. No gnawable furniture. No drywall
or carpeting (unsupervised dogs frequently consume both). If you can't
watch and won't puppyproof, any damages that occur are your own fault.
You've forfeited bitching rights.

Even grow'd-up doggies need supervision.
TG mine isn't an 'ingester', but if she's feeling left out, she'll go crazy
to show me all the things she thinks I'll think are 'dangerous' or important
to chew up in front of me. She had my bank debit card last week :S. .All
part of the fun of having a very clever dog, but supervision is vital. When
you can't supervise, make sure they're too knckered to be bothered to be up
to much :)

Don't let them do that.

You may want to investigate using a crate for each of them, when you can't
watch them.

try putting something bitter/bad smelling on/near the plants it might
discourage them from wanting to dig them up but yeah other than
that...watch them

I'd feel a lot sorrier for you if you hadn't been warned in advance.

separate the dogs from the plants somehow. a fence, x-pen, whatever. we
use an Invisible Fence system, setup so that our gardens are "safe areas"
that the dogs can't enter.

supervision is the next alternative, until you can get that done.

some people use motion sensitive sprinklers, but some dogs like water, and
it's just as expensive to setup as a small decorative fence.

Another suggestion. I haven't tried this one, read it somewhere a while
back, so I don't know from personal experience if it would work.

Maybe putting welded wire fencing down flat on the ground around your
plants, or in the planting area - a digging barrier. "Staple" the fencing
to the soil with bent wire clothes hangers, and cover with mulch or gravel.

I'd think you could try this out cheaply on one or two of your plants, then
expand it if it works.

I guess they might still dig the mulch or gravel up, but it might at least
save the lives of your plants.
