To stop Max the bath shitter

It is very shallow and only his paws get wet. I don't think he will
jump straight in anymore. There is no depth really to the water so
should not cause danger.

I'd put more water in the tub, at least so that his belly gets wet like the
other poster suggested. There wouldn't be any danger to him. After that, I'd
be watching closely for him to use some alternate location for a litter
area. To complement the water in the bathtub solution, I'd have a small
litter box just outside the bathtub and a regular usage full sized one in
the location where you'd like him to regularly go.

Why just to the belly ?
Fill it right to the top with cold water, and I guarantee that cat will
never jump in there again.

And don't worry, it won't drown.
But it won't be any too pleased.
BTW make sure all the breakables are out of the bathroom, as that cat will
fire off like a bullet


As with the other posts, make sure there is a litter box nearby, and slowly
move it over the course of days/weeks to where you intend to keep it
permanently

bathe her once and as soon as her paw tips touched the water she turned into
a frantically struggling ball of barbed wire. I figured just to the belly
would be completely sufficient. (it would also reduce the amount of water
spread out on the floors).

I have 2 in the bathroom because he is very fussy.
