It's Todd-the-Dog this time. He got a hot spot, and I'm guessing that the
infection has spread into his system. I haven't seen him so lethargic since
he was 9 months old and got hit by a car. He just looks dazed. We have an
appointment tomorrow (Wednesday) at 3 pm with a veterinary dermatologist. I
just happened to be going in to Vancouver tomorrow for Rosh Hashanah (dinner
with the family -- not the synagogue stuff), and this specialist just
happened to have an opening. I wish I could do something for my "little
puppy" right now. Looks like I'll be sharing my not-so-big bed tonight with
my 130-pound baby. I'm sure he'll be okay once he gets the spot cleaned up
and some antibiotics into him, but in the meantime, he sure is one miserable
boy.

Unfortunately, it looks like Zamboni is going to have to go with us on our
outing. Because of the ferry schedules, I have to stay overnight, and with
the care he needs right now, I don't think I can get one of my neighbours to
deal with him. I hope it won't be too, too much stress for him. I'm quite
worried about him. Although he has shown more and more strength and has
started eating some hay AND pellets on his own, yesterday night he started
making some odd sounds. At first I thought it was his gut, but he passed a
good pile of poop this morning as usual (he hadn't yesterday), and his belly
isn't bloated. I suspect it may be his lungs. He absolutely refused any
Critical Care today. I think this might be the beginning of the end. I don't
know if it was just a bad day, or if my gut really does know.

And I'm still up to my eyeballs in boxes. I just haven't had the energy to
deal with unpacking.

I am so tired of all this.

Michele

Michele,

I'm sorry you and your two sick furkids are having such a bad time.

Remember, it will pass. Things will get better.

Hang in there.

I know, easy enough for me to say.

Hope you are right, that Todd will get fixed right up.

Good luck to all 3 of you, and I hoe you can enjoy the holiday despite all.

Nona

Here's hoping Todd gets relief for his hot spots and maga prayers for
both Todd and Zamboni. It sometimes does get overwhelming and I can
sympathize with all your going through. Visions of my last 5 months
with Mocha come to mind. {{{{Hugs}}}}

michele, todd the dog will be fine once he has his meds. you, on the other
hand, need some hugs from your family. try to enjoy yourself while you are
visiting with your family.

as you already know, the zman is forever in my prayers.
