ahh, the legendary "fool" line. i've heard much about them, they seem to be
very easy to find. maybe too easy.

not sure if you'll find a "fool blood" pup here, but there are plenty of
purebred Siberian Huskies on www.petfinder.com.

wolf

the Iditarod Race starts in 1 hour from this post, just informing the dog
community of the Last Great Race. The race is in Alaska U.S. and is an 1100
mile sled dog race that takes 9 days for the winners and goes across barren
tundra and ice the last half of the race and reaches temperatures below -60F
at times thats approx -45C i believe, where man cant barely stay warm, and
thats along the Yukon river. I maintain an Iditarod site for the love of
the sport and i also have a sled dog team myself. Information and race
following can be found here. Dont forget to watch the race updates link a
few times daily to see the positions of the mushers and to go to the APRN
link to listen to daily radio coverage. Hope all Enjoys!! Wolf
www.home.earthlink.net/~wolfdoggsite
go to the Iditarod link when u get to my stie, unless you want to see my
dogs, they are under the Malamutes and Wolves link. Good Day, happy race
watching, and coffee drinking.... I am!

Your site offers no information about Siberian Huskies. I
was wondering why you'd point someone looking for a Siberian
to it. However, it's a pretty good example of the kind of
breeder to avoid.

>take a look at aly zirkles team, she runs an

First, it's "Aliy," not "Aly." Second, she doesn't run
Sibes and she's never run Sibes. Third, there are two
purebred Siberian teams in this year's Iditarod, not one.
One is Karen Ramstead's and the other is Wayne Curtis's.

I use Mozilla. I'll file a bug report letting them know
that their browser spreads misinformation about sleddogs.

>also, why do you say mals are to avoid?

I didn't. I said that *you* are to avoid.

yes, i understand that, thats why if you go to my site, you will notice
thats the way i have it stated now... geesh, and why would you avoid a
breeder cause he doesnt promote another type of breed. but you are
mistaken, cause i have a link to the siberian husky club of american i
believe it is if you look closer on the iditarod page, you see that the word
Siberian Husky, and Alaskan Malamute and Alaskan Husky are LINKS?? check
them out,
hope you are ok, you sound kinda hateful.. especially when i am only trying
to help you get to know the iditarod race more, and learn more about dogs,
do you think im replying to thin air?

No, I'd avoid you because the only information you provide
about your dogs is that they're AKC-registered.

>especially when i am only trying
>to help you get to know the iditarod race more, and learn more about dogs,

I think that if you're going to try to teach people you
should probably take some care that your facts are, in fact,
facts. Also, if people are interested in learning about
sleddog racing the Iditarod is probably not the best place
to start. While it gets more press than the others it's one
of a very small number of extremely long races. Sprint and
mid-distance races are more typical (for example, the
Beargrease is this weekend), and even stage racing is more
typical of the long distance races.

>do you think im replying to thin air?

Frankly, your writing is very unclear. I can't figure out
what you're replying to.

are you kidding? they are not AKC registered, gosh do you even read? theyre
part wolf, give me a break. ever heard of will steger?
wolf
p.s. im sorry for some of you females that think you know it all, then act
like it on newsgroups. i dont care how much experience you have iin sled
dogs, it may or may not be more than my 16 years experience, but either way,
you have a attitude problem to your own viewers dismay. i have an opinion
of you now, and its not necessarily good.
sorry about that however, for you of course, cause i always give someone the
benefit of the doubt, but even after me apologizing and being humble evan
after you bash me, your true colors are showing.

p.s i dont sell over the internet, i only sell through phone calls, i wont
ship my dogs, so theres plenty of information to be had if one would call me
by sending an email. and by the way, I DO NOT BREED THE DOGS intentionally,
i only keep them for my own sledding purposes, so i am not out to advertise
the selling of pups, just to put the word out that i have pups that need
good homes when i need to, and only the people who take good initiative will
get ahold of me and get the phone number at that.
also if you look into Rajahs portfolio or Alyeskas portfolio you will learn
more about them, did you see those? not sure if anybody notices that,
theyre flash buttons.

You only breed your dog accidentally? How often has this
happened?

>i only keep them for my own sledding purposes,

I've talked to a few people that have tried to run wolves in
harness (including a Malamute person who spent over a decade
in wolf rescue and at a wolf park) and they say it's
impossible. They have no drive, they're aggressive with
their teammates, and they don't enjoy it. I've never seen
of, heard about, or read of a racing, touring, or
recreational team that has wolf hybrids on it. Your setup
sounds pretty bogus.

then you havent heard of WILL STEGER, on his world reknowned arctic and
antarctic expeditions. Look for a ducumentary called Peril at the Pole and
you will see. and in response to somebody elses post, the male sire is half
wofl, and the pups 1/4 wolf, this incorporates strength and wildness into
the pack amking them excellent pullers. so its true, they make good
freighting dogs... theyve been pulling me around for about 7 years.

I'm quite familiar with Steger's expeditions. I wasn't
aware that his dogs had wolf blood. It's still pretty
exceptional. Polar expeditions generally use Greenland dogs
and Canadian Inuit dogs.

Wildness isn't the first quality you look for in a sleddog.
It's not the second or third, either. I gather that you're
a wolf-hugger who happens to mush. Why do you think that
wildness is a positive attribute for a sleddog, and why do
you think that it's extraordinarily rare for people to run
wolves in harness?
