Yes, I would be equally upset! I do hope you have some further
information by now. My response to your post is that you certainly
deserve to have this question answered by the veterinarian. Certainly an
analysis of the fluid is necessary for a full explanation, but (if you
haven't already) please ask whether the fluid is in the abdominal cavity
itself, and if so, where it might be coming from and what sorts of
things allow for this condition.
How does Ian seem to be feeling? Is he eating? Is he lethargic? Is he
withdrawn or hiding himself?
