It probably depends on the breeder and/or the individual workers at the
chain store. At a petsmart close by here, the parrots from cockatiels
on up usually come to the glass to greet me. I know the tiels I've
raised aren't as people-affectionate as some others because I don't hand
feed them - the parents do an excellent job - although I do handle them
from an early age. They're very hand-tame but do not like to be stroked
like their mother who was hand fed.
