Went to PetCo and spoke with the dog groomers.
They suggested an electric shaver. They also
cautioned that a cats skin is much more tender
than that of a dog and to be careful of nicking my
cat while shaving him. They also told me to shave
my cat "with" the grain of the hair and not
against it. I found out that it was much easier to
shave against the grain of the hair. Had to clean
the shaver quite often because of the wax that
would buildup in the clippers. All in all my cat
took this much better than I thought he would. Had
thick leather gloves on and a towel to wrap around
him to semi-restrain his movements. About halfway
through shaving him I turned the shaver off and
actually heard my cat purring. He didn't like
being held down but didn't seem to mind he was
being shaved. I got rid of the gloves to get a
better hold of the scruff of his neck. I shaved
against the grain of the hair in short strokes,
down almost to bare skin. Guess I'm just blessed
with a very good natured cat.

I've attached a photo of Oliver after he'd been
shaved.............

Just a reminder that this is not a binary newsgroup, thus pictures are
not allowed.

Also some servers will not carry them. If you have a website where you can
upload the pictures, I'd love to see them. Glad it went ok :-)
