Archived from groups: alt>pets>dogs>labrador (more info?)

Well I wasn't sure if I had to make an emergency visit to the vets last
night or not... poor pup...

Licorice, was throwing up like crazy last night, her belly was bloated and
thick, and she was making frequent trips outside...

dern labs and their penchance for food... after cleaning up the fourth puke
spot, I realized from the smell that she had gotten into some raw bread
dough I had mixed up the other night but threw away. *it had mini bugs in
the flour, so baking bread was no longer appealing to me at that point*
She wound up throwing up a few times more too... *luckily I had borrowed my
neighbours carpet cleaner Yayyyy bissel!!!*

I was impressed with my dough because the yeast I used was extra active and
working wonderfully, til the bug thing anyways...

but I digress... Licorice was shivering and quite chilly actually, even when
she moved to another spot on the bed her previous spot wasn't nearly as warm
as it normally would have been... so I enveloped her in blankets and kept
rubbing and petting her back as she laid there snoring and sleeping... she
was shivering a lot, and it took a while for her to stop but eventually she
did... being the worry mom I am, I half slept last night, and made sure my
hand was on her chest all the time...

she seems to be over the worse part... no more throwing up, and still taking
in liquids, *main concern for me there*... so she's not dehydrated or
anything...

but she's still shivering occassionally, and seems chilly still...

And being the wonderful lab that she is... STILL let me know that my son was
having a seizure this morning... despite how she felt...

And thats why we love em...

Carrie
