Hi all,

I have five male mice living in the same house for over one year now (since
birth last November) and they get along great despite much of what is said
about keeping males together. My friend has a pet rat, Andy, who is 2.5
years old and is apparently on his decline and needs some TLC. My friend is
moving to the mainland, and her friend caring for him now is also moving.

Can this rat and my mice live together in harmony (in two tanks mind you,
connected with funnel tubes, to allow the mice to keep Andy company), or is
it a disaster waiting to happen?

thanks

Absolutely not. Rats prey on mice. It won't be a disaster waiting to
happen, it will just be a disaster happening. Google "muricide" for
more information.

You can only do this if you want to get rid of the mice, and Andy is hungry,
either way, put them together and you'll have one large rodent instead of
three, probably within the first minute or two.
