Got the new rat.

A few days ago I posted here asking for pros and cons about getting a new rat
as a friend for my rat Nimh. I'd been looking at tank full of baby dumbo rats
at my at a local pet store for about a week now surprised that they weren't
marked as such, and were being sold at the same price as the the other rats.
I'm not a particularly fond of dumbo rats, but this lot was exceptionally cute.
All of them were cream colored with big black eyes.

Today I was in the store again with my friend Steve who was playing with a
puppy he had bought (he won't be taking it hom until next week), and I got to
talking about the rats (she's a rat owner too) and when I asked her why the
dumbo rats weren't marked she told me that the store mainly sold them as snake
food! I was rather shocked. She took one out for me to look at and he was very
friendly, curling up in my hand, cuddling, and letting me rub his head and
ears. He climbed up on my shoulder and I followed my friend and the puppy
around the store.

Needless to say he came home with me. I've named him Prince Edward. He seems to
be doing well. I will give you another update in a few days.

I have to say... I like his name! :-)
