My parrotlet used to 'poop' in my hair and shoulders all the time, but as he
got older he learned, of his own accord, to climb down to my shoulder and
try to drop off my back. nearly always, the drop ended up in my t-shirt. I
suspect he didn't want to climb around in his feces on my head... I didnt'
consiously train him to do anything, he just did it on his own.
I asked about 'potty training' because I wondered if there was an agreed
method, or you just got lucky with some birds. I am getting a CAG this
winter (we're waiting and waiting for the clutch!) and interested in the
training techniques.
Last night, I found a site where the breeder discussed 'towl play' as a good
idea, to teach a bird to be comfortable with a towl to aid in vet and
grooming visits. has anyone had experience with this? do you think it a
good/bad idea?
