Archived from groups: rec>pets>dogs>behavior (more info?)

I have posted before and I wanted to update you on my poodle. My
poodle has tested the last 3 times with very low glucose. She also
appears blind though I took her to an eye doctor and he ran tests and
said her eyes were fine. She seems disoriented and nervous. She's only
7 years old. I am taking her to a Neurologist in less than 2 weeks.
Has anyone had any experience with this type of thing? Thank you!

Hi Cornwagon: Low blood sugar, does that with the eye problem sound
like diabetes? I am not sure. Definitely you are doing the right
thing by taking her to various doctors to find out the cause, I am
surprised they have not found it yet. I would talk to a Poodle
breeder in your area, or on the internet, and get some breed type
information to see if there is a hereditary factor or perhaps they
will know better what the problem could be. I used to have a toy
poodle myself many years ago, her name was Scarlet Ribbons, who was a
lovely dog. I just found your post here and am also surprised no one
has posted an answer to try to help you out.
Hope this was helpful to you also.
You can look to a site I know very well for it is my own blog on dog
health: the site is: http://www.DogHealth1.com
Hope this helps your dog and I hope it heals very quickly.
All the best
Teri
