Post subject: how to make bathtime more fun?

Bella loves teh water, but hates it when its bath time...I pick her up to
put her in and she just stands there with the saddest look on her
face....and then when i take her out she hates me for the rest of the day...
Is there anyway to make this more enjoyable for her?

Give her treats during the bath, then pull out her favorite toy afterwards
for a good play session - associate some happy fun things with bath time.
It worked for Atty. We have to keep the allergy shampoo on for 10
min.before rinsing it off - that means a 10 min. treat and a talk fest about
what a good girl she is while she's in the bath tub. She used to hate it,
now she knows it's treat time and will even jump into the bath tub on her
own!

My boy is the same way. I decided to let the groomer be the bad guy :)

i only washed j a few times with the antiallergic shampoo. as she doesnt
like that, i tried to turn it into a play.

i rub her with the shampooed sponge, keeping her by the collar, then hose
her to clean away the lather.

she begins to run around me, grunting, jumping and trying to bite the water
jet.

after 5-10' we both are happily wet, and she scratches herself a bit less.

Our lab loves it when we spray water at her with hose, so whenever
it's bath time, we tie her to a four foot long leash in front of the
house and hose her to get her wet, then shampoo, then rinse with the
hose again. She only hates the shampoo part, which lasts only 2
minutes, but the rest of the time she's having a ball. In fact, she
gets excited whenever she see us take the shampoo and brush out.
