My recently aquired OWA shares my study with me.
As I'm frequently up late, well into the early hours, Polly can have fairly
bright light for up to 18 / 19 hours per day.

Is this likely to be a problem for Poly ?
Should I, move the cage to a dark room of an evening or use a cover over the
cage to restrict the light to say 12 hrs. / day?
If a cover, what is a suitable fabric.

TIA

If I were you I'd make sure Poly gets at least 1 hours of sleep every day.
You might want to place her cage in a room where she can sleep undisturbed.
Or, some people have "sleeping cages" which they keep in their bedrooms.

I'm sure Marco meant a number between 10 and 12. 8-)

If your after-dark hours in the study are quiet, a dark-colored sheet will
work quite well. Our birds are covered with hunter green queen-size sheets
that match their rooms And our room.) If you're noisy in there, your Amazon
needs a separate room to sleep.

Others have answered your question fully. She needs 12 hours of sleep a
night. The other thing which might be a problem is if you smoke in the
room (very very bad) .

Why did you leave out:
cooking with teflon pans
painting the walls
burning scented candles
freshening up with febreze
installing new carpet
tossing firecrackers at the bird
etc
etc
