Hi, i'm new to this group. I had a Lab come to my home I think about 7 weeks
ago. Her tits are starting to get milk in them. how long tell she really
starts showing if she is going to have puppies? never been around this breed
of dog so any help would be great. she is the best dogs i have. thanks pam

Pam,

The teats can swell up a bit when a bitch comes into season, so it may
be that. In my experience, pregnancy usually shows before this, but my
husband had one that was pronounced "not pregnant" by the vet the day
before she had 8 puppies.

Gestation is about 9 weeks or a little less. If yours does have puppies,
most likely she was bred just before you found her. She might have
run off from home because she was in heat and been unable to find
her way back. Bitches that normally stay at home become great
escape artists when they come in season. Because this is a likely
scenario, I encourage you to put some extra effort into finding her
family if she does have puppies.
