I have had my Labrador since she was 7 weeks and she is a fairly quiet one.
She is now three years old.
Yet my GSD is 6 and you just look at her and she will mug you to play.
Do not worry to much ...just love him the way he is.
Then anything else will be a bonus.
There are two things about Labradors that are prominent.
They love food...and they love to be loved.
He may have been quiet anyway even if you had him from a pup.
Perhaps later he will get to the play thing.
The more you worry about it the more she will pick up on it.
Good luck.
Pat.
