Anyone have any experience with a Midwest Home For Pets (made for an African
Grey)? It's powder coated and I wonder if it would be healthy for my Koko
if she decided to bite on it.

Please don't misunderstand me - but are you qualified to assure me that
powder coating is OK?

Here in Europe, most cages are powder-coated. You'd be hard pressed to
find a cage that isn't powder coated. Powder-coated cages are guaranteed
non-toxic, you don't have to be a metallurgist to figure it out.

This is USENET, you can't ever truat what you read when it comes to
assuring the safety of a living being. Powder Coated cages are fine,
however don't take our word for it. Go beyound the realms of usenet and
make your own mind up!

I have owned several powder coated cages, but now I choose stainless steel.
Personal preference.

Gary.

Where do you get your cages (brand name?)? I think stainless steel would be
far safer - and when my parrot bites on it, it won't wear off the powder
coating. I'd like to find a nice cage - but not pay over $150 for it. The
ones I've seen on the net (so far) sell for far more than that.
Thanks......

Well my Stainless Steel was $4,000 - but it is 8ft x 7ft x 6ft.

You will NOT get a stainless steel for anywhere close to $150. Try $1,050.

Powder Coated is FINE. Do not worry about it.

Gary.
