Post subject: kittens peeing on blankets.....

so, i've had these kittens for about a week now and they seemed to be litter trained. but the other day i noticed a bunch of pee spots on our sleeeping bag that was in the same room as the litter box. Are they just marking their territory or are they upset, or whats going on?
