A friend of mine wants to convince her friend not to mate her lab. The
lab is kept on a chain, fed scraps instead of real food for the most part,
no testing, no papers, yadda yadda and the owner wants to find a "papered"
lab to breed her bitch to. Does anyone have anything on a website that
would convince a BYBer not to breed? Puppy mill stuff doesn't really
apply in this situation, since she wouldn't consider herself as part of
that problem.

thanks

natalie

I don't think a person who keeps a people-oriented dog on a chain and feeds
it scraps is really going to be deterred from breeding the beast by a
website. How about giving your friend the local animal control authority's
phone number so the dog can be removed from this situation?

Why? The dog has food and shelter. There's nothing that animal control
can do. Neglect of this sort doesn't equal abuse, or even an official
sort of neglect.

Good point.

I don't think it's possible to stop people being low-key idiots, really.
