Please help me?

I have an orange winged amazon parrot who is nearly a year old. My problem
is that he wont let me touch him, he is very gentle and will feed out of
my hand but when i put my hand in the cage without food he tries to bite.

I would love to be able to let him out and pick him up. As I have never
had a bird this big I am stuck on what to do!
Please could you give me some advice on how to hand tame my bird.

Is the bird hand reared, "semi tame", or parent reared?

Same with my female one. Not sure how tame you an get them, I'd be interested in what other people have managed - only had her a few weeks. She'll land on my shoulder, land on my head, loves being near me, sits on the edge of my pdinner plate to eat, and sometimes dares to take food out of my hand. Only sits on my finger if she's scared of something and I'm "rescuing" her.

I don't have a cage! Well I have a huge macaw cage with all the doors open, it has a removable tray at the bottom so I put all the food and drink on there, and a lot of the toys, easier to clean up. But nothing ever gets shut in.
