Need help identifying a snake

Post subject: Need help identifying a snake
Archived from groups: alt>pets>reptiles>snakes (more info?)

I was just in my backyard and saw a snake i dont think i have seen
before in Gerogia. It was about 2.5 feet and black. It has yellow-
ish bands (very thin.. one scale) about an inch apart down the length
of the back from the head to tail. The head was small.

Any ideas?

I'd guess a kingsnake, but would need a picture to be sure.
