My cat, a diabetic, and ON DM only, just ate a roll that my roomate
left out.

I am 1) furious at my roomate for leaving it out.
2) MAD at my cat for eating it.

sure enough, he's spent the last 10 minutes at the water bowl,
something he hasn't done since he was first diagnosed with diabities
last year and has been on a DM food only diet since.

Is this one incident temporary?

will call the vet tommorow.

please advise.

thanks

Not a vet and only a vet can give good advice but..one way to
prevent carbs from turning to sugar in humans is through exercise.
Maybe if you can get him to run around and burn it off as energy
:-) Just a thought.

Buzz,

It would be a good idea to get his blood tested today. Could you get him
to the vet for the test? There are also home bloodtesting meters that
people use at home on their cats (the people kind of meter sold at drug
stores.)

Try posting your question on the message board at
www.felinediabetes.com. Lots of hands-on experience in cat diabetes there.

Good luck,

Rhonda
