Help,

My Foo Foo has been sick for about 3 years with an auto immune problem. He has
been on Prednizone. The vet keeps increasing the dosage as he needs to stay
semi well. He is about 6 yrs old, deaf and blind. He gets more ragged looking
by the day. His fur looks like a neglected malnurished bun. He either has
forgotten the litter box, doesnt have the strength to get in or has become
incontinent. He sleeps most of the time. It is so hard to know when the "time"
has come. He could be extremely miserable or just mildly miserable. Foof
never complains. I don't want to wait too long. I called his vet and
"priced"........Yuck, It makes one feel so scum of the earth. Alas, his vet
charges $73.00. My dog's vet (good vet, not bun specialist) only charges
$35.00. This is hideous, pricing the end for my beloved Foo Foo. This is a
very tough decision to make on ones own. Any helpful thoughts would be
appreciated.

I have questioned that myself about my bun. Days she seems well others not. I
guess the only thing I can tell you is that you will know when its time. The
buns have this look they give you.

good luck
nancy

My Max was still eating and drinking and eliminating when I took him into
his vet but we had already discussed the rainbow bridge on the previous two
visits to the clinic. I called that Saturday morning and said I just had to
do it right away before I lost my nerve and they were wonderful to both Max
and me. I couldn't see him become even more miserable; loved him too much
and he had had such a full, long and healthy life till this infection took
him down.I held him through all but the shunt placement and he slept his
life away peacefully. It cost $95.00 and I would have paid anything for an
easy crossing for him. The bill came the next week along with a sympathy
card from the staff - they were so caring.
