I know in many ways it seems like a sad week here on RPCA and it seems
like we have a lot of those lately. But I think it is a good week. Some
of us have been together for 10 years or more (where does the time go?)
and our cats are just naturally getting old. What makes it a good week
is that we have a support system in place to deal with the losses and a
place to go where we know we will find comfort.
It is a good week because the vast majority of us still have healthy,
vibrant kitties living at home with us pulling b*st*rd cat tricks,
taking over the bed, being nipheads and generally making life worth living.
It is a good week because because Archer is healing and driving
Catnipped crazy and we get to hear about.
It is a good week because Jeanette came back and even though I remember
her by her cats and not her name, I remember her and am glad she came back.
It is a good week because the Stripey Thing became world famous on
Webshots this week (okay, I just had to add that one)
It is a good week because we got to hear some Mark Edwards snippets.
So, yes, we have had some losses, but, I say they demonstrate what a
great week it has been in our community. It has shown the best of us.
When people around the world can shed tears for a cat that is very real
even though they have never met it, that is a great day. It is what
makes our community stand out from others on the internet and what makes
ours worth coming to and staying in and after being gone, coming back to.
Here's to more great weeks (maybe not so many losses, but if we have
them, lets celebrate the lives they represent and the community we have
here and not think of it so much as such a sad time.)
With an abundance of love,

Such wise words Bridget, thank you - they were a great solace. Sometimes,
in our grief, we mourn the death and forget to celebrate the life.

Love that is returned. Good week, bad week, grief, joy, everyday life,
this is a great place.
