My tiel loves mashed potato, really digs into it and gets it all over
his face. Pasta is something else he gets into as well.
Really you can feed them just about anything, only no-no's are things
like chocolate and avocado (I think it's avocado anyway). Other than
that just try different things and see what sort of response you get,
you'll soon find out what they like.

Avacados are poisonous to birds.
He also likes anything that is not unhealthy like Doritos, cookies, ect.
I'm just looking for something from the vegetarian variety that you can get
from the grocery store. >> Stay informed about: food or snack usggestions |

Also try romaine lettuce. My bird loves the romaine, but hates the
iceberg lettuce. He also loves the baby carrots. Have you tried apples?
or bananas? If you feed him an apple just make sure he doesn't eat the
apple seeds. I always remove the skin and slice him off a few pieces.
I wouldn't give your bird too many cookies and Doritos, they are not
good for him - a lot of fat. Once in a while I give my bird popcorn
without the butter and salt. >> Stay informed about: food or snack usggestions |

Ours have a varied diet.
Breakfast is Beak Appetit (google it) and they LOVE it.
There are always LeFeber's cockatiel pellets available in another dish.
In the evening they get a small amount of seed.
Treats? They LOVE corn on the cob, broccoli, dandelions when we lived up
north (no chemicals used on lawn). Just put different offerings in the
cage and see what they like. We purchased a few clips for cages and
attach the different veggies that way.

Well, first of all you're tiel shouldn't be getting just seed for his main diet, he needs pellets as well. I know this is a budgie website but a cockatiel's dietary needs are almost exactly the same so it may be of some help. Other foods you can feed and ones you shouldn't feed are listed too: http://www.budgietalk.com/ >> Stay informed about: food or snack usggestions |
