I have a very strange oranda goldfish. He floats to the top a lot after I
feed him. I have read treatments here mentioned before on the newsgroup,
however. And, I have even discussed some here with Dr Solo.
I have fed the fish peas and cooked shrimp (chopped up), as well as other
stuff. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But. I finally figured out
the problem.
This silly fish spends 1-2 hours looking at the top for food, after feeding
time. He ends up swolling a lot of air, and quite often when he swims
downward, many bubbles come out of his mouth for 10 seconds or more.
The other day, I waved my hand by the tank, and i guess he thought I put
food into the tank because he spent another hour looking at the surface.
SHortly after that, he had the floating problem again.
None of my other fish do this. In fact, if I feed the fish sinking food, he
usually doesn't even see it because he is too nusy looking at the top.
Any cures for fish who swollow bubbles? (he isn't swollowing bubbles, he is
getting air from the surface and then swollowing it). >> Stay informed about: fish swollowing bubbles, then floating |
