My SIL has to give up her 13+ yr old cat (a sweet old lady lapcat), and has
appealed to us for help. The cat is old, but otherwise healthy. She has
been exposed to Feline Leukemia (about 10 years ago), but has never gotten
sick. We can't fly down to Florida to get her, and somehow I don't think the
elderly lady would be happy with our much younger cats and baby-especially
the latter, but if we can get her up to us, we'll try to find her a more
appropriate home. I'd prefer a local rescue, though, and DH and I are
willing to donate to a non-profit which would take this kitty and agree to
find a good home for her or care for her as long as she remains healthy.
