Archived from groups: rec>pets>birds>pigeons (more info?)

We had them just over a week and they are already eating on their own.
The little one let us know that it did not want to have food stuffed
down its throat any more by jumping out of feeding basket and back into
the enclosure. It can now eat on its own and the few days of forced
feeding may not have been too pleasant but kept the little bird alive.

Their beaks are also changing and getting harder and have real nice
feathers. I made a 5 ft. diameter, 3 ft. high net enclosure, placed
food, water and several large rocks inside. Their extended family comes
to hang out with them in the AM and PM. We are hoping that in a week or
two, they will be able to leave. This time, we do not give them names,
only food, water and temporary shelter.

Did not see any more injured pigeons under the bridge lately.

So far, so good!
