dog eating his own poo?

hi, i have a chihuahua, and he's great. he's nice, he's tiny, he's all
athletic and happy... but he eats his own dookie for some reason. IT MAKES
HIS BREATH SMELL -HORRIBLE-!!!

does anyone know why this could be? he is 3 mos old

i haven't really ever encountered this, and i was thinking it may be a
vitamin deficiency?

we keep him inside at all times and he is paper trained. is it because he
has nothing better to do and is hungry?

Hi,

We had a friend with this problem awhile ago, she increased her dogs food a
little and hasn't had the problem since, try increasing your dogs food and
see how it goes from there, if still no change I would suggest a trip to the
vet but to be honest a little extra food and I think the problem will stop.

Does your dog chew on its ears whilst eating or drinking?

If so you will find a snood very helpful.
A snood is an elasticised cylinder of fabric which slips over your dogs
head.
