I'm guessing he hasn't actually met any Pit Bulls. Or maybe any
dogs, period.

Dobes are generally much taller and squarer than Pit Bulls.

Jumpy? I really think not. Both are fairly high energy breeds,
unless you turn them into lumps.

True! Thankfully, my red dog is not quite that evil. She just
sneezes and blows dogsnot in your face.

I know, it's gross! And she's one of those "excited sneezers" who
sneezes right in your face, so whenever she gets wound up, I get
showered.

I wouldn't exactly call this large, but I also don't have the tail
problem you mentioned.

Anyway, being lectured on how to keep dogs indoors is kind of funny.
Where else would I keep one?

I've never had a dog sweep a table with their tail. And I'm sure Scott's
dobermans will not sweep tables or rap shins with their tails either

One thing I do *not* miss about Elliott. Actually, I was more
bothered by the tail feathers getting in my beverages than the tail
knocking things over, as I don't have much that's breakable. When
stuff gets knocked off the coffee table (always by the cat, by the
way), it's a pain in the ass, but not tragic.

Here, it's mostly papers of various sorts. We keep glasses on higher
end/sofa tables. The current dogs are also a little more delicate
around things than a certain wonderful black dog was. He could be a
bull in a china shop in so many circumstances.

There is nothing on my coffee table that is breakable. It's mostly books,
and a dog would have to work hard to knock them of, I'd think. Also, the
other way to get around the dog knocking stuff off the coffee table is to
get a dog large enough that the dog's butt is higher than the table, or one
who holds his tail up high over his back (I know you know that, Shelly).

Here, too. And art supplies, because my coffee table, er, work
bench, is Studio B.

I usually drink out of a covered thermal mug (a hold-over from Mr.
Fluffy Tail). When I drink hot stuff and don't put it in a covered
mug, the damned dog helps herself to it as soon as my back is
turned. She'll ignore a plate of food, but not a cup of tea.

Some dogs have The Gift, I think. I know Elliott had it. What a
lummox! Harriet is very conscious of where her body is, so she's
not apt to knock stuff over. Not accidentally, anyway.

You're dogs' tail curl, that's an advantage. Back in my Murphy
days, she once happy-tail-swept a glass of red wine onto my gf's
white couch. Oops!

That said, I once took Friday to mom's knick knack laden house
for a week with nary a problem. That that said, there's no way
I'd let tailess Rocky run free in that house.
