I was disgusted about this!!

Last week went to 2 pet stores. One of them (can't remember the name,
but I think it was privately owned by one owner). I see this cute little
cockatiel in a cage behind glass. He's walking around on the floor of
his cage - looked happy and content when I walked up. I look and see his
cage a complete mess! Not only was it a mess, but there was no paper on
the bottom of his cage! He was also basically walking around in his poo!
It was stuck all over the bottom of his feet. Also the poor birds beak
looked a bit red, like as if it was bleeding in one corner at one time.
His tail also looked as if it had dried up blood on the tail feathers.
The woman that was working there at the time I was there was frantically
looking for her cat all over the store - I'm wondering if this cat had
gotten to the bird at some point because of the dried blood I had seen
on the bird - who knows, but this really pissed me off! How can someone
be such an animal lover and then let their animals live in such filth? I
know one thing, I will never go there again!

Also went to Petco - I'm sure if your in the states you've heard of the
store and went there. It was okay, but I wasn't too happy about one of
the employees fixing a bird cage with the bird still in the cage!
I'm not sure what he was doing - I was trying to see, but he was using a
hammer and pounding the cage with the hammer with this poor bird still
in the cage! I was watching the bird and he did look a bit frightened.
I'm thinking why in the HELL couldn't this guy put the bird in another
cage while 'fixing' this birds cage? I asked him and all he did was look
at me and gave me no answer!

Sorry I had to rant about this!!
