Laurie, so many of the young deaths seem to occur so fast. I had never
thought about it before. I am sorry to hear Snowbelle's story. Maybe his
job was to open the door for other rabbits.

Patches, you are so lucky. I actually have big questions now about
neutering bucks unless they are completely and unquestionably healthy. I
think your baggage helps to protect you -- you made it through a cancer and
surgery that would have taken many.

I have had two males that had a latent infection emerge after a neuter. Can
hoomins join BIAS?

Anita, Jessie, and Quark -- too late for me ;(

Wow! Twenty rabbits. You are a statistician's dream.

Everyone, many of the emails that I was sending are coming back to me (email
addresses modified). I don't want to make the thread too bulky, so I'm not
responding to all the messages. But I have gotten them all.

Everybody can join BIAS, power in numbers. Even our poor little buddies who
were snatched without their consent.

Mr. Patches (We'll get a card for you to Quark)

After thinking about the RabbitVet data, I realize I couldn't combine them.
It has to be a single sample in time. In other words, I'd have to poll them
for numbers right now, too. I thought I'd see what we have on apr before I
did that.

It will just be a chart of numbers -- nothing fancy.

Sue, I have a feeling from looking at things that there are many young
losses. I wonder how many of us have felt guilty because we thought that
only our rabbit died so young. I know I would have felt much more peaceful
about Toofer if he had been older.

Hi Anita,

1 bunny, Aimee - she is a mini-Rex and approximately 9 months old.

Take care,
Martha

P.S. As unpleasant as it might be, to get an accurate curve, would bunnies
who have crossed the bridge not need to be counted as well? (I'm sorry if
someone has already brought this up, I haven't had time to read the entire
thread.)

Myotoxin is: "<protein> From a family of small basic proteins (42-45
amino acids) in rattlesnake venom. Induce rapid necrosis of muscle. "

You probably mean mycotoxin: "Plant diseases caused by fungi, including
Corn Ear Rot of corn and Wheat Head Blight, are a major problem for US
agriculture.  Toxins produced by some of these fungi (mycotoxins) also
cause disease in domestic animals."
