well i dont really want to get a second rabbit. Thumper (my Lop) has the
cats as his friends and he sometimes tries to get a little bit too friendly
if ya know what i mean lol it just seems like he maybe has a bad dream and
to me he is like a baby wake up early then mommy comes in and rocks back to
sleep lol except he dont fall to sleep in my arms he just calms down and
stops his very loud thumping.

Our Lulu does this (or just runs around making as much noise as possible)
when she wants to wake us up. She did the 7am wakeup call for quite a
while... Maybe she figured it was her job to get us up in time for work.

Alternatively, the fact that she'd always get a handful of lettuce after
waking us up might have been the reason ;-) She once jumped up on the bed
and thumped - now that was interesting. Mattress springs transmit sounds
rather well.

Could've been a dream also if it was just thumping - Lulu rarely thumps
without good reason, but there may be a noise that upsets him that you're
not aware off (central heating kicking in at the same time maybe...?).

im pretty sure it wasnt a noise he is quiet all day and night only once in a
while he will thump loud and wake me up but a while ago he use to run back
and forth in his cage like crazy and throw shavings all over the floor so i
figured that he was pissed because his cage was to small so i got him a
bigger one and he dont do that no more now its just the loud thumping every
now and then last time he woke me up with his thumping was like 2months ago
and then this morning he did it

He may hear something you don't -- such as the cry of a far-off hawk.

Or he may be training you to come comfort him when he thumps!

It's possible that he is feeling something like an earthquake that is too small
to wake you up, but startles him. Or a noise that is at a decibel rating that
you don't hear easily...or a cat racing by at high speed.

The thumping can mean a few things. Fear, anger, victory (watch them make a
victory thump when they avoid you as you try to catch them), or just boredom.

Pops used to do it, and he still will once in a while when he sees an unknown
person enter the room. Mule does it at whatever it is he thinks he sees in the
night. It hasnt' happened in months now, but for a while, we had to leave a
night light on. Bazy May (another bunny from this group) thumps when she sees a
mouse. It just all depends and usually, unless you see what set him off, you
won't know what caused it.

im pretty sure its not anger or victory i feel he might of got scared
somehow our cats dont bother with him and when they do the youngest cat can
go on top of his cage but thumper dont mind at all so i know its not the
cats im thinking he's dreamming and got scared i'll stick with that. That is
the only possible reason that i know just by his regular actions.
