Hi everibody. What's written down bellow is what we are dealing with
the Canadian Government about seal hunting. Norwegians yet don't
answer. ( They better do)
Don't miss a word. It's rather juicy ( or bloody if you wish)
Thank you for taking the time to answer me back. I simply don't agree
with you and the Canadian policy about seal hunting. You say
something about sound conservation… Are seals so noisy that you
cannot sleep at night down in Ottawa? Does this alow you to set up
an extermination plan? If it is so, please include my mother in law in
it, because she is rather noisy too. Perhaps there are too many
seals. If it is so, you may set up a birth control plan or even
selective killing of some selected individuals, but certanly you may
not set up a profitable show with such ugly matter. And I know about
what I'm talking about. It is simply about what you can carry to bed
at night and have a pleasent sleep. There are some people like me that
think that we do not owe other spicies, simply we share the world with
them. Simply stop the show. Do what you have to do, but stop the
bloody show. It only gives killers an opportunity to take some
trainning. I'll keep in touch. Have sweet dreams tonight.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us with your views on the
Atlantic Canada Seal Hunt. We respect an individual's choice to
support or oppose the seal hunt. I would like to outline some of the
facts pertaining to this hunt in the hopes of clarifying some
misinformation.
The existing multi-year (2003-2005) management measures for the seal
hunt are based on sound conservation principles and a commitment to
strong, peer-reviewed scientific advice. Quotas are set at levels
that make the continued health and abundance of the herd the main
priority. In 2003 a total of 289,512 harp seals were harvested out of
a potential harvest of 350,000 animals.
The hunt for harp (whitecoat) and hooded (blueback) seal pups has not
been allowed since 1987. Regulations prohibit the trade, sale, or
barter of the fur of these pups.
In September 2002, the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA)
issued a Special Report on Animal Welfare and the Harp Seal Hunt in
Atlantic Canada. The article reports the results of independent
observations of the seal hunt made by representatives and
veterinarians of the CVMA in recent years and compares them to
observations made by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).
The conclusion of the CVMA study is that a large majority of seals
taken during the hunt (98%) are killed in an acceptably humane manner.
Again, thank you for taking the time to write on this important
matter. I hope the information I have provided adequately answers your
questions and addresses your concerns.

Hi! It's the first time I write to you, but if things dont change, it
wont be the last. I herd that you permit baby seal hunting in your
country and
also organize tours ...My question is, Who in the name of god gave you
permission to do so? You name us sudamericans people of the third
world...
but you are medieval. Civilized people just dont do things like
this.Respectfully I beg you to stop this or show me I'm wrong. I know
that
political decissions work slow so I decided to open a Web page about
this matter, with embassy telephone numbers, e-mails and Canada and
Norway
embassys adresses; and also all about the people that organize this
bloody safaris. I'm also able to find out all about the people that
pay to practice
this horrible sport. With all the power that tecnollogy provides me,
added to a 178.000.000 data base in all the world, I'll give you more
than a
headache in your next ellections... I'll give this topic most
atention.. I'll be looking over your shoulder.
