Another thought, is to skip the puppy stage, and adopt an older dog from a
shelter/rescue group. (although man oh man puppies are a lot of fun :))
You might want to spend some time at your local shelter (volunteering etc).
Its really easy to find a dog there that fits with you. What I find is that
there is one, maybe two dogs in the whole shelter that I would give a
permanent home to. You really get to know the dogs, and then have a good
idea, which if any will fit with your lifestyle.
