You don't have to stay awake as I'm not going to give a test. :)

About 35 years ago I owned a small pet shop in No. La. ... very small.
It was more like an advanced hobby store and originally we were going
to handle only tropical fish, various foods and dog supplies. A
friend who raised parakeets wanted to put some in on consignment so
that worked pretty well. I was looking thru the catalog from a pet
wholesaler in Miami and get interested in parrots. Going to the
library I read up on the various kinds and decided to order some BFA
.... 3 of them for $16.00 each plus about $10 for air shipping costs.
Back then we would double the wholesale price and split the shipping
and I put them up for sale for $40.00. I thought they were gonna stay
with me and draw social security. One guy wanted to know what was
wrong with them as they were so cheap. One weekend I went to a pet
wholesale show in Dallas and visited a large pet shop there. They
had BFAs like mine. I introduced myself to the owner and we had
coffee and chatted about business. When I told him about my parrots
he laughed and said I had underpriced them, that people expected to
pay big bucks for a BFA. That weekend we returned and I moved the
cages and put a sign up that said something like "SPECIAL THIS WEEK
$125.00. The customer who had asked what was wrong came in a few days
later and said he was glad that I finally got some GOOD BIRDS and
bought one! I asked him about the difference in "these parrots" and
the "other ones" he said he couldn't really explain it to me but he
could see just by looking that these were a much better quality.

Story's over. Have a good night's rest.

:)
