Dreck can't do it. He keeps using a waste percentage
that is based on the *entire* weight of the animal, and
that's WRONG: the weight gained in the feedlot is
virtually ALL edible beef; maybe 5% is not edible.

Every page Dreck has found indicates the animal eats
about 17 pounds of DRY MATTER per day, and gains about
3 pounds per day. Thus, the simple ratio of feed:beef
is about 17 / 3 = 5.7 pounds of feed to one pound of
gain, or 5.7:1.

If we want to assume that there is maybe 5% inedible
matter in the 3 pounds, then we need to divide 5.7 by
..95, giving an adjusted ratio of 6:1.

The feed:beef ratio is about 6:1, the figure that
virtually every web site on the topic gives (so long as
it isn't a site run by lying "vegan" hysterics.)

That has nothing to do with a feed:beef ratio.

Right, Dreckweed: 16.8 pounds, not 25.anything.
