This is really for ppl living in the US. In Europe, you should be able to
substitute your own products, for other regions, improvisation is necessary
if you do not have the items I list.

In this case, the item is a brand of potato crisps we have called
"Pringles". It comes in a tube. Buy them. Eat them. Break off a nibblet for
your ratties. When you are done, wash. Saw off the closed end. Viola! A play
tube for your rats/gerbils/dagus/etc... You pay $1.50 as opposed to $5 at
the pet store and you get free crisps to boot.

Hmmm...We do have Pringles here in the backwoods of Europe known as the UK!
Save yourself the bother of going to the store and eating all that junk for the
sake of your small furry friends :o) Just go to a builder's yard and buy a
piece of downpipe or drain....Cheaper than the Pringles, better for the
waistline, and lasts longer. :o)

In Australia we have shops that recycle junk salvaged from the tip.
The bits of pipe need a wash but cost a few cents. Lasts for yonks too. I
bung mine in the dishwasher every week and then give them back to the
ratties.

Are you talking about plumbing type plastic pvc pipe? Isn't that bad for
their bellies?

I've used pvc tunnels for my rats for years
with no problem. My rats love them. The
pvc's too tough for them to gnaw and it's a
breeze to clean because waste doesn't
adhere to it very stickily.
