Well 2 cats and three four month old kittens. I got them all from the cat
protection ppl.
They came with a form saying I have to have them spayed/neutered at six
months. The thing is the female is long haired and good looking so I could
make a mint from the kittens. Can they force me to do them?

Your chances of actually making significant money are slim to none:
stud fee, kitten shots, vet visits for the mother, etc., not to
mention the agravation and hassles. You might make expenses, but the
market for high priced kittens without papers hardly exists, and low
prices don't even cover your expenses. It's hard even to *give* them
away.
Not to mention that you (probably) signed a (probably) binding
agreement to spay the cat which means that if you don't show them
proof of spaying, they can go to court to force you to spay the cat,
and maybe pay their legal expenses. Spaying the cat is the only
honorable path, and the one that is probably least damaging to your
finances.

What expenses? The male cat does the female... I put her in the garage when
she drops, 8 weeks later I flog the young. Hardly expensive, just a bit of
extra kitten food for a while and I flog them for £30 each.
I could tell the woman when she rings up that Willow got run over then
there's probably not a damn thing she can do about it.

Well since you are posting from Hull (why else have a karoo account) and
there's only one CPL branch near there - I'd hope there's no-one from
the Hull branch reading this ng - especially since you just let the cats
name slip. >> Stay informed about: I have 5 cats. |

Personally I think the guy is a troll but just in case he isn't, someone
should
call the CPL in Hull and inform them that their screening process is flawed.
The groups I know of would never give one person 5 cats unless they knew
them really well or if they were just fostering.

1) You're a troll and an idiot
2) You have little education and, obviously, no desire to learn the basics of
cat care
3) You should do the ethical thing - if you even have the cats you write about
- and find good homes for them.
4) Forward the name of this group because they don't care where they dump the
cats. >> Stay informed about: I have 5 cats. |

Great that you are taking in abused cats. But think of your "grandchildren". The more you
breed, the more you risk creating more "Willows" and "Piddles". You can check out the
owners nine ways to Sunday. Unless you are willing to do home follow-up visits, you don't
know what you are getting your kittens into, and if you are breeding, do you intend to
adopt to others that will also breed? Perhaps they would find their kittens "beautiful"
and decide to make a few quid.
:(
See, it is like an avalanche, and there is really no stopping it. Two beget six, six beget
thirty-six, and so on.
Just think ahead, and ask yourself if you want to risk it. Simpler to just pay the vet
bills, and write it off as a rather cheap payment for a lot of love (cheaper than kids,
lol).

So that's why my two fully grown cats are completely fit, healthy and well.
They are affectionate and love our home.

They needed a good home. I have such a home. Three dogs, 5 cats, 3 rats, 2
kids, five fish tanks, and a big pond. I have a 150k house on the borders of
Leeds. It has loads of land and all the field mice you an eat.

Random matings? Random kittens. Around here, people have trouble
giving them away, even if they are already neutered and have had their
shots.
Quality stud service is not cheap, and you get what you pay for in
that area. And people buying kittens generally want prepared pets -
shots and all, though at that price, they should expect culls with
good breeding but not of show quality and with no papers, and a
binding contract, which the breeder *will* enforce, that the buyer
will neuter the kitten.

Well, these people do exist. I think some of the abandoned kittens I
have taken in might have come from such operations that failed to make
money (two of them are extremely pretty, and one of them has a
definitely below standard looking brother).
