Dear Terry & list:
I have gotten good fish from Wal-Mart - you have to look in **all**
the tanks for dead ones, 'cause they have a single water-circulation
system for all tanks in a store. A lot depends on the character of a
particular store's pet section manager.
I like to buy from a human being - like a local aquarium or pet store.
When I lived down on Navajo I used to go in to see a pet lady in
Gallup - where I am now there's no shop I would buy fish from. If I
need more I'll drive the 700 miles.
Look around, check out every pet shop in your home territory. If you
find a good shop with good fish, buy there. If you can't find one,
widen you search. Or post to the list: "Anyone know a good shop in
the XXX area?"
good luck
