Hey, I like my butt (and other stuff) warm as much as the next guy,
but I have the sense to pull down my pants before I go:)

Like I said, my wife tries very hard to make the dog as effimanat as
possible. I think dog clothes are for old ladies, not the dogs (and
were both under 40). He loves the snow, but not the cold. He shivers
and hides in the bushes to stay out of the wind when he's out back.
Philadelphia is temperate compared to some places, but it does get
down to the teens, especially at night. We had a bad cold spell last
week and it's in the 20's right now. There is also not an ounce of
fat on this dog. There is NEVER no food in his bowl. He doesn't eat
once a day, he eats all day long (a few bites at a time). He is so
energetic and has such a high metabalism that he burns off whatever we
give him. The fact that he eats all day a little at a time makes his
metabolism stay higher than it would be as well. We can't force the
dog to eat once a day and I think it would be cruel to try it. He'd
get real hungry then gorge and throw it up most likely. My cats are
like that too.

Look, those are sisy clothes. The other dogs in the neighborhood
would laugh him out of town:) The men would laugh me out of town.
And I ain't taking his pants off for him to take a dump or a pee. He
will just have to deal with the protection nature gave him for those
parts.

You mean like these:

Those of us who live in cold places know this: if your
primary concern is how you look, you're going to be
uncomfortable and you're going to deserve to be
uncomfortable.

What a clown.

It's mostly tounge in cheek, but I wouldn't walk around with him in a
pink coat:) Even if he was a she.

I could deal with them, but I don't agree with hunting. If your going
to take your do outside for a weekend in the snow and cold mountains a
coat of any color is fine (nobody is going to see you anyway). How
can you call hunting a sport? The animals are not willing
participants and have no incentive to participate. They are forced to
participate and if they "win" they get to live. Not even a trophy or
a treat. I do agree with hunting to live and hunting to thin a
population that is too thick for the environment (that we destoyed) so
they don't all starve.

Remember, this is 90% tounge-in-cheek. I call him a sissie dog and
all sorts of efeminate names to my wife, but I still love him. He's a
dog. He has no sexuality. It's just about me and her and who's dog
it is. Try and lighten up.

I understand pretty well. So does, I think, everybody who
reads your posts. If you don't want people to know that you
have anxieties about your own masculinity you should
probably be a little more circumspect in what you post.

There's actually a pretty substantial research literature on
this, BTW.

I think you're a jackass. It sounds like you've got a
really nice dog, and you're more worried about whether or
not people will think you're less than fully masculine.
Jackass.

You think I'm a jackass? You are about the dumbest person I've ever
encountered in a usenet group and believe me, that is quite an
accomplishment. You can't even see a joke when it's explained to you.
Your an idiot, you have no sense of humor and I really feel sorry for
you and everyone who knows you. Chances are, you shouldn't own a dog.
I wouldn't trust you to take proper care of a pet rock, let alone a
dog. Do the world a favor and kill yourself! Stupid bitch.

In whose bedroom was his crate? Probably yours -- there's no
problem, when crate training, with comforting him during the
night. I like to place the crate right next to my bed within
arm dangling distance.

It was in the kitchen. He was just so loud that we could hear it
upstairs in the bedroom. Like I said, that lasted all of three days.
We don't even have the crate anymore.
