I agree with td, if it's done *only* for looks, it's barbaric. Not barbaric
when it's medically necessary. IMO it's not possible to tell in advance, in
many or even most cases.

I'm shattered by your belief concerning my statement.

< sarcasm off >

I stand by my statement. It's my opinion, and after all, it's usenet. I'm
entitled to my *opinion*.

At what joint are Pems normally docked? If he doesn't have a
stub he was either docked too short (not a good thing) or may
have a naturally bobbed tail.

ok, i've done some additional research - apparently pems are generally
bobtailed and docked to nothing (at least show breeders - apparently
working breeders go a bit longer). Occasionally a pem is born with no bob
but its not common.

What was apparently done to that puppy has nothing whatsoever to do
with normal ear cropping, and even less to do with tail docking.

I think that Greyhounds aren't docked because they use their tails as
rudders to some extent, or at least racing folks think they do. It's
not unusual for adopted ex-racers to lose parts or all of their tails
due to Happy Tail injuries, which you probably know.
